(kiian/KAI-YON/they/she)
I’m a Black American writer, hoodoo, mother, and organizer born and raised in Central Jersey, living in Philly.
My work often revolves around the natural world and climate change, communal and familial dynamics, and spirituality. Decolonial and abolitionist frameworks help guide my thinking.
I received bachelor’s degrees in Africana Studies and Journalism from Rutgers University. But I credit most of my education to my ancestors and elders who raised and continue to guide me.
I can be reached at kai.yon.dawn@gmail.com or on the net @KiianDawn.
